HTC has been under a lot of scrutiny lately as their market shares have plummeted to an all time low and their newly released devices have failed to hit the mark repeatedly. The HTC A9 was no exception to this as the phone severely lacked the proper hardware as well as managing to look like a cheap iPhone knockoff. The company however still have fight left in them as they are expected to learn from their mistakes. Which is why some of us are even excited to see what they do with their soon to be released midranged device, called HTC One X9 and that is exactly what we got today as renders of the device were leaked online.
First of the renders was brought to light courtesy of the Chinese Regulatory Authority, TENAA. As you can see in the images below, the phone carries a somewhat similar design to the HTC A9 and has the same metallic body. The front speakers have made a return and the HTC logo has been somewhat re-positioned.
The second set of images (as can be seen in the start of the article) come from cnmo and offer a somewhat more detailed look into the device. One thing to note here is that the device might use a micro USB port instead of a USB C port, which for a mid ranged device is fine but a bit redundant as it’s time that the company makes the USB C port a standard.
As for the specs of the HTC One X9, nothing really is known apart from the fact that the phone will feature a 5.5″ IPS FHD display, and will be powered by a 2.2 GHZ octa-core processor running on 2 GB of RAM. The exact chipset of the device is still unknown but it is speculated that it may very well be a Mediatek device. The device will also feature a 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera with 3000 mAh battery.
So what do you people think about the HTC One X9? Is it something you see yourself buying or will it turn out to be just another Android device.
