Recently a lot of rumors have emerged about the supposed X Phone or as now it is being called, the XFON by Motorola. We have heard rumors of its existence to hints that it may be entirely customizable from its looks to its internal hardware and quite recently we even had some picture leaks courtesy of @evleaks of what seemed to be the supposed Motorola device.
Today, more light is being shed on this story as the latest filing by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) mentions the Motorola XT 1058 with specs including Bluetooth 4.0, NFC capabilities, 802.11ac WiFi, and LTE bands compatible with AT&T. Also, the picture posted in the filling (as shown above) looks very similar to the device we saw @evleaks display, which we presumed could be the XFON by Motorola on the AT&T.
The model number XT 1058 is also quite consistent with the benchmark results of a Motorola device, XT 1055 that popped up in the AnTuTu benchmark results just last week. Now, the model numbers of these two devices are too close for it to be a sheer coincidence. Apparently, I think Guy Kawasaki was right and we may be looking at Motorola device that very well may be customizable to its final hardware.
The great thing about this report is that since the device has been filed by the FCC, we may very well be looking at an official unveiling of the device in the near future as FCC filings are among the last things OEMs have to worry about before introducing a device for consumer use in the market. I honestly hope that the XFON has better hardware than what the benchmark tests and the pictures shown by @evleaks indicated because quite honestly, the devices rumored there were not really something that would give any competition to the Samsung Galaxy S4 or the HTC One. In any case, what do you guys think? Do you believe that this can be the much anticipated XFON or is it something else entirely?
