Huawei Ascend P6S, an octa core refresh

Huawei Ascend P6S

Huawei has already made waves with their stellar product line and it seems that another smartphone, the Huawei Ascend P6S is on the way. As the name suggests the Huawei Ascend P6S is a refresh of the well-received Huawei Ascend P6 smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer. Huawei made a lot of people happy when they announced that the Huawei Ascend P6 will be getting Android 4.4 Kit Kat update by January. Even big hitters like Samsung are behind on announcing the latest update for their smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S III is still stuck at Android 4.2 which is kind of sad.

Huawei’s president took probably sensing a good vibe about his company announced that there will new version of the flagship. This came from a Weibo, a Chinese equivalent to Twitter. As of now we don’t have much information about the Huawei Ascend P6S, we don’t even know that it will be called this or not. Anyways we are not sure if Huawei will use their own home made octa core processors in the Huawei Ascend P6S or opt for MediaTek MT6592 octa core offering. But we know one thing though, that the Huawei’s own chip is a bit under-powered and lacks the speed expected from this caliber of chips. On the other hand MediaTek MT6592 scored around 28,000 on AnTuTu bend mark which is a pretty decent score.

MediaTek is going to release the new chips in a couple of days on November 20th so we will have more information on Huawei Ascend P6S then Obviously having a good smartphone on the lineup will be a good advantage to MediaTek and they might make a joint announcement about Huawei Ascend P6S. but whatever the case is, the Huawei Ascend P6S will probably be a good smartphone just like its predecessor. We will keep you updated.
