Asustek Computer, makers of the popular EeePC, have announced plans to develop the EeeBot, an educational Android designed for kids.   Sponsored by the Taiwan government, the EeeBot will be designed with software and services that interact with and teach children.   The hardware will come from Asustek. 

The EeeBot project will focus on building content and services around the robot to subsidize the cost of the hardware and make them more affordable to families. Technologies involved in the project include human robot interaction (HRI), voice and visual technologies, as well as positioning and navigation, in addition to software and other hardware.

It will be quite some time before  the Eeebot materializes.  Asustek expects it to take roughly two years to create a prototype and up to four years for the real deal to hit the streets.  Anyone want to guess what version of Android we’ll be on by then?
