Usually we don’t cover every small change an app goes through on this website but when the app in question is something that is used by millions of people worldwide, we have to make an exception. The app in question is Instagram and the change they are working on is the introduction of support of multiple accounts on their Android version of the app.
Now, we know on paper that this doesn’t really sound like much of a noteworthy change for the average Instagram user but for people who have a personal and a business account to look after, this is a heavens send. No longer will they need to install specific mods to access multiple accounts on their device.
Another thing to note here is that this change hasn’t officially rolled out yet and is still in its beta stages. Which means that while some users are able to access this specific feature by going to Settings and scrolling to the very end, to others it is inaccessible as of this moment. Some of us who did have access to this feature, the easy account switch was truly a great Christmas gift from a faceless, multi billion corporation who doesn’t give two hoots about us. For others, it was just a moment to awe and wait for the feature to be introduced to their device.
Funnily enough, this feature has still not been introduced or in the iOS version of the app. This can either mean that Instagram is treating the Android users as guinea pigs or they are finally realizing that most people now a days have a higher probability of owning a mid ranged Android phone than an expensive iPhone. In any case, do tell us if you were among the lucky few who have access to this feature and what are your initial and final thoughts about the whole thing in the comment section below.
