In a world where every smartphone is aiming to go slim, the Lenovo S860 is a breath of fresh air. The smartphone is a mid-range device but it is unlike any other we have seen in a very long time. There are a ton of plastic made mid-range devices on the market, even from big companies like Samsung and Sony but Lenovo S860 is aiming to shun such traditions.
The Lenovo S860 is a mid-range device which has a metal back finish giving it a premium look. This is a great achievement especially in a world where flagship smartphones are looking like cheap toys; yes we are talking about the Samsung Galaxy S5 here. The metallic finish does add to the overall weight of the smartphone which is around 0.43lbs. The phone is not that slim either coming at 0.4 inch thickness but there is a great reason behind that bulk.
The Lenovo S860 comes with a 4000 mAh battery which is quite a large number for a mid-range smartphone. The Chinese manufacturer is saying that the smartphone will be able to boast 24 hours of 3G talk time and 40 hours of standby time. These are some amazing numbers we are talking about. The Lenovo S860 will also be able to charge other devices with the bundled microUSB cable. The smartphone comes with a 5.3 inch HD 720p IPS screen. The Lenovo S860 runs on a quad core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone will also feature an improved Mali 400 GPU. As for storage you will be getting 16 GB of on board one but without any option to expand.
On the back you will find an 8 MP camera with LED flash while the front one is clocked at 1.5 MP. The camera is capable of recording 1080p video. The smartphone is aiming to release at $349 price mark. There is no word about the release dates as of yet.
