If recent rumors and leaks are to be believed, LG is working on a smartphone called the LG Flex G. The LG Flex G which is widely believed to have the model number LG-F340L is reported to have a curved display. Before you get too excited let me elaborate that indeed the LG Flex G will feature a flexible display but the smartphone itself will not be that bendable. The LG Flex G is supposed to have a 6 inch plastic based OLED display which is theoretically indestructible and will be quite lighter compared to the glass based ones.
The reports indicate that LG is preparing for a November launch for the LG Flex G which is just around the corner. Another report has some of the specs of LG Flex G. Take a look at the specs below and carry on for our usual tech speculations:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 @ 2.3GHz
- HD resolution ( 1280 x 720)
- Model info: lge / z_lgu_kr / zee: 4.2.2/JDQ39B/F340L_LAP8974JMR1R130820.1376962998: userdebug / test-keys
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor is on par with the flagship smartphone but the 720p display is quite hard to swallow. Having only a HD resolution on a 6 inch display might put off many customers who want nothing bet the best from their smartphones. We are also wondering how we will pocket the LG Flex G; after all, the curve will make it a little uncomfortable for tight jeans. The LG Flex G might become the very first curved plastic OLED smartphone to come out, that is if Samsung doesn’t release their own soon.
We are really excited about the LG Flex G, partially because it is a clear indication of where the technology is headed and partially because we drop our phones a lot. We will be keeping you updated about the LG Flex G.
