This was expected and it happened today. LG G Pro 2 has been officially announced by the Korean manufacturer. The smartphone follows the same design as the LG G2 and has almost the same outlook but it is relatively bigger in size. The LG G Pro 2 boasts a large 5.9 inch screen but comes with the same ultra-thin bezels and back placed hardware buttons.
To be honest while we are huge fans of the thin bezels, we don’t really love the hardware buttons in the back. It’s just because we really don’t fancy touching the camera lens that frequently. Anyways our usual quip aside, the LG G Pro 2 is a great looking phablet smartphone. The screen is a large 5.9 inched one with full HD 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and an IPS panel. The IPS panel features some of the darkest blacks we have seen so it will be a great addition to the LG G Pro 2.
The smartphone will run on Android 4.4 Kit Kat right out of the box. It will also come with an evolved KnockOn feature called Knock Code. The LG G Pro 2 is also the first smartphone to feature a 1 Watt speaker which will definitely bring some noise. The smartphone comes with a 13 MP camera and LED flash. There will be a quad core QUALCOMM Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.26 GHz inside the LG G Pro 2 as well as 3 GB of RAM. The smartphone will have 32 GB of internal memory as well as a microSD card slot for expansions. A 3200 mAh battery will be running the show which will also be removable.
The LG G Pro 2 is going to launch later this month in South Korea. There will be three colors available at launch, white, silver and titan which we assume is a fancy word for black. There is no word about how much the LG G Pro 2 will cost and whether we will see it come to US or Europe. We are hoping to know more at MWC later this month.
