LG Optimus GK is a 5 inch G Pro

LG Optimus GK

The LG Optimus G Pro was a great smartphone but its big size put many off. LG is rectifying that by releasing the LG Optimus GK which is essentially a LG Optimus G Pro with a smaller size. LG has a really great smartphone on its hands, but unfortunately it is only willing to sell it in its home town. The LG Optimus GK is headed to South Korea for now, but we are hopeful that the smartphone will also be released to other regions as well, after all a great phone like this deserves a global release.

The LG Optimus GK packs a 5 inch IPS full HD 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution screen. In the inside the smartphone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor which is clocked at 1.7 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone has Android version 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with the usual skinning of the manufacture on top of that. Here are the complete specs of LG Optimus GK:

  • AbsSize 139.1 * 69.9 * 9.9 mm
  • Weight 156g
  • Color Platinum White (Platinum White) / Black Indigo (Indigo Black)
  • 3G HSPA + network 4G LTE

We really like the fact that the smartphone packs a 3,100 mAh battery which is probably the reason why it is a little thicker than the Galaxy S4. But longer battery life is a great trade off. LG currently hasn’t listed the price of the LG Optimus GK; neither it has shown any intention of releasing the smartphone outside the country. We will get back to you if the Korean manufacture decides to change that.
