Now that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is out of the way, public attention is swinging towards the Motorola XT1058, which is also rumored to be the fabled Google X Phone. There are literally tons of rumors being posted about the Motorola XT1058 on daily basis; some of them are somewhat outlandish while some of them are much closer to reality. The Motorola XT1058 however is far from official, there is no word about the smartphone from official channels and we have yet to see a glimpse of the smartphone.

Although to be honest there is no confirmation regarding the existence of suck smartphone but we still have rumors which state that it will be customizable, it will come in 20 colors and it will not be that powerful. A mid ranged smartphone, if you will. But just this weekend the Motorola XT1058 showed up at FCC and is said to be running on Android version 4.2.2 and a 1.7 GHz processor. Some are saying it is a Snapdragon S4 Pro while some are inclining towards Snapdragon 600.

However today we saw that the Motorola XT1058 is much more capable in the graphics department. In the benchmark test called “GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex HD C24Z16”, the Motorola XT1058 scored 1485 Frames (26.5 frames per second). Comparatively the Samsung Galaxy S4 scored only 704 frames while the HTC One was a little better at 853. The second test “GFXBench 2.5 Egypt HD C24Z16” also showed the graphical prowess of Motorola XT1058 which scored 6078 frames, while HTC One and Galaxy S4 scored 4133 and 4572 respectively. But the Motorola XT1058 only has 720p resolution while both the others have 1080p screens, it might play an important factor.

So does it mean that the Motorola XT1058 is going to have amazing graphics? Well to be honest we are not sure about the credibility of the tests. They can easily be faked, so until we have solid reason to believe otherwise, we will deem them suspicious. But given Google’s recent love with games, it is entirely plausible that the new smartphone from Motorola will have something amazing up its sleeves.
