Summary : A great app to take amazing selfies!
Taking selfies or being a selfie addict is considered to be the new hip thing to do. With a lot of apps that are made specifically for the sole purpose of taking selfies, there are a few which stand out from the rest. B612 is the perfect appetite for all those selfie-addicts out there.
It has a wide range of filters to choose from, some of them are common typical ones while some are advanced. In every filter the intensity of the light can be controlled. The vignette option for B612 is quite nice. The filters themselves are quite adjusted to the background and neglect the out of focus objects but the vignette allows you to control the borders creating an illusion of a more focused picture, preferably a selfie.
You need to find the right spot with B612 and sometimes the pictures turn out to be too good to be true for an app regardless of the smartphone you’re carrying. Unlike many other camera apps, there isn’t a direct option for saving pictures onto your storage and it requires a couple of taps to do that. However, deleting a bad picture directly from the phone is a 2 click process, which in case of selfie addicts is quite important. The great thing is if you cannot decide on a good filter, you can select the random option and let the app do your job. Also, selfie collages are great.
There is a slight setback with B612 that it functions a bit differently on different smartphones. I have used the app on five different smartphones and B612 exceled in its results in 3 of them. For the other 2, it just didn’t give out the perfect picture. There are no options to increase the focus which is a bit of a letdown for an app with such great filters. It also has an option to make short videos with an audio however the end quality isn’t very clear, making it a poor choice over other available apps.
There is an option for collage making with different filters, which is great. However, all the pictures need to be snapped by the app as it does not allow importing any pictures from the rest of your storage, which to be honest was a big let down for me. All in all, if you’re a selfie person then opt for B612 to get the right pictures. Even though the app does have a lot of short comings, the end result delivered by the app is often worth the pain.
