Ever thought you could use a little more control of how you interact with people via e-mail while using Gmail? If yes, then probably you are not familiar with the services provided by Boomerang for Gmail on PC. Boomerang basically allows users to schedule their messages to be sent at a later time, boomerang them back to your inbox if there isn’t any reply or if a message requires follow up.
Now all the above mentioned services are available for your Android phone as well thanks to the Boomerang for Android app that has been released on the Play Store. By using this app you will be able to set up your messages for auto sending or get reminded of the ones that still haven’t received a reply. Also swiping the messages left and right brings forth many useful options which are kind of similar to Gmail’s action swipe.
The app provides many features that make it quite useful but it does come with its own set of problems. The UI is somewhat clunky and can get a whole lot better. Similarly, the app can also make do with some updates to remove some of its performance issues as well. Oh and to top it all, the app can currently only support Gmail or Google apps. That being said, we should remember that this is after all a new app and as time will pass it will hopefully get updates (and finally be able to use push notifications) and remove all of the above stated problems and get a whole lot better. The app developers have already promised support for Outlook, Yahoo and other e-mail providers will be added shortly.
Personally, even with all of its drawbacks, I kind of like Boomerang for Android just because it allows me to schedule my e-mail messages, which can come in real handy especially if you have a lot if international correspondences to keep up with.
