Summary : A great camera app with lots of effects to choose from
Retrica has been around for quite a while and still has a very large number of followers for three very simple reasons.
- Good filters
It is light and has an interface that is quite easy to grasp. There aren’t many options popping in on either corners and the settings are easy to manipulate. As the name suggests, most filters are towards the retro sides and any imperfections around in the background are omitted, this is achieved by addition of a vignette feature which can be changed or adjusted accordingly.
What is good about Retrica is the ample range of filters available to the users. They can be accessed from the bottom right corner and changed with the help of a shuffle key or chosen from the options by the user. The best part is that the intensity can be controlled.
One thing I have experienced using Retrica on different smartphones is that the filter selection is a quick easy process, the pictures turn out exactly how intended. There are hardly any delays in processing of the picture.
Some of its notable features include, but are not limited to, being able to set the ratio of the picture to 1:1 or 3:4, an option to form a collage, and options to take pictures at a set interval without any hassle. That being said it does lack the ability to replace a single picture from the collage, which is something that the developers should consider adding in the future patches.
With a shutter key located on the bottom, a timer that can be set as per your requirement, a simple border and a good range of focus encourages easy picture snapping the app has you jump right into the process of taking that perfect selfie. However, the best thing about the app is that it doesn’t have any in app advertisements unlike many other camera apps that are available on the Play Store. It’s truly a great app for anyone who loves to take pictures with their phones.
