If recent rumors are to be believed, LG might be looking to make a big splash in the upcoming CES 2013. Last year the mega event was not what everyone was hoping it to be as major manufacturers decided to skip it in the favor of MWC. Some even decided to host private events for the unveiling of their anticipated devices (yes we are talking about Samsung). Needless to say last year’s CES was a bit boring on the smartphone and tablet front. If the yesteryear’s trend continues this year, LG has a golden chance to run away with the limelight.
GSMArena says that LG has some rather big news planned for the upcoming event. LG has been teasing us with the prospects or Google TV products for a while but the report from GSMArena states that there will also be a 4.7 inch edge to edge phone with a bezel which measures only 1mm. LG is looking to challenge Motorola’s RAZR M too. It’s good to see another company step into the competition though.
LG on the other hand might not stop at just that, as the rumors suggest the company is gearing up phablet displays too. The phone and tablet hybrid screens will measure 5.5 inches rivaling the size of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2. The displays will also support a full HD 1080p screen with pixel density of 403 ppi. The HTC Droid DNA is the only device on market at this moment which is anywhere near the pixel density.
And lastly there will also be a 7 inch tablet with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 with pixel density of 324ppi. If the rumors are indeed true, LG is on hell of a smart company. Covering up every base is the smartest way to go, with the dawn of the 1080p 5 plus inch smartphones and super cheap 7 inch tablets just starting to boom. Of course these rumors will be confirmed or denied in just a couple of days, and PimpmyRom will be there to cover them all.
