T-Mobile is the only major carrier in the U.S. that is currently without LTE service. Today, something popped up that has a good portion of the internet convinced that LTE on T-Mobile may be coming very soon to the U.S. The thing that popped up that has a lot wondering is the Samsung SGH-T999L
Here you see the product listed as a GSM phone with Bluetooth, there isn’t any information as to a carrier or whether or not it has LTE, but since all of the other major US carriers already have the LTE Galaxy S3 and the model number meets the trend for Galaxy S3’s and T-Mobile devices, there’s a lot of confidence that T-Mobile will soon offer LTE.
We will keep you updated as we have more information on this as to what exactly this device is. It will be great once all of the networks, their devices, and their customers are on 4G LTE, but it could take up to five years before that happens, unless the carriers give away the phones and data plans. It is possible that flip phones and basic feature phones could end up going away very quickly as well, which will hopefully mean that the cost of a data plan goes down. Once most customers are on smartphones, it is possible that SMS could become free with a lot less people having the need for it. Oh, what excitement could be coming!
Stay tuned for more information on this subject. PimpMyRom will be sure to cover it!
