It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Sony is working on their next flagships smartphone. The latest rumors are that the new flagship is codenamed Sony Sirius and will likely come at the same time Sony Xperia Z came last year. The 2014 is young and there are already quite juicy rumors about flagships from every company and Sony Sirius is no exception. While the rumors are just rumors, it doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy talking and speculating about the upcoming smartphones.
The HTC M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5 will also be releasing and Sony Sirius seems to go against them with some good specs, that is according to the rumors. The Sony Sirius or Sony D6503 if you like numbers better is reported to come with a Qualcomm processor. QUALCOMM MSM8974AB will be clocked a 2.3 GHz and will come with Adreno 330 GPU. There will also be 3 GB of RAM on the Sony Sirius. Just like the Sony Xperia Z1, the Sony Sirius will also ship with a 20.7 MP main camera while the first one is of 2.1 MP.
The Sony Sirius will also have a 5.2 inch display with full HD 1080p resolution. This may be a bit behind the others as Samsung is probably going to come with a higher resolution in their flagship. While not shipping with the QHD 2K resolution, Sony Sirius will have a distinct advantage over other smartphones of similar tier. For one you will not notice any significant difference between the screens. Secondly, the 1080p will be less taxing and will not be as resource hunger as the other flagships. You have to keep in mind that these are just rumors and should not be taken seriously. Will the Sony Sirius be officially called the Sony Xperia Z2? We will keep you updated.
