Samsung Folder (or whatever it is going to be officially called) is looking like on hell of a smartphone. I was always a fan of flip smartphones; they really had that stylish action hero mechanism which made taking calls a blast. Samsung seems to know that there is market for smartphones like the Samsung Folder and I think they are spot on this time around. Samsung has previously released a couple of Android flip smartphones, one of them was even endorsed by Jackie Chan. The Samsung Folder seems to be a great looking smartphone. Take a gander at the photos of the phone and head on to our analysis.
Acceding to a Korean language user manual found for the smartphones, the Samsung Folder will have mid-range specs. This is understandable because Samsung is still testing waters and it is a substantial risk to make a fully loaded flip phone in this day and age. Regardless, the Samsung Folder comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels. For a flip phone these dimensions are really great. The smartphone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual core processor along with a surprising 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone is also said to have LTE support.
We would really like the Samsung Folder to be released outside of Korea, but this seems to be just a wish at the moment. If the Samsung Folder gains traction in the native region, we don’t see any harm in testing other markets as well. I’m sure many of us will like to have a decent looking Android flip phone in our pockets. I can imagine this as my primary call taking smartphone in public, after all opening the smartphone like a switchblade and answering it in one go does look slick.
