We know that Sony Honami is coming and we know it is going to be the flagship from the Japanese manufacturer. We are really excited about Sony Honami, partially because it is rumored to be the premier camera smartphone from Sony and partially because it might have a Snapdragon 800 processor. This speed and great capturing capabilities makes it one of the most anticipated smartphones of this year. But again Sony has a habit of not bringing amazing devices to the States in time, so we should not get ahead of ourselves.
The Sony Honami has recently popped up on GFXBench, a benchmarking site as the name suggests. The device has a model number of C6903 which is widely believed to be that of the Sony Honami, but yet again this might be an altogether different device which was hidden from us (a really hard possibility). The benchmark shows a processor clocked at 2 GHz, but the guys at Xperia Blog are saying it will passingly come close to the 2.2 GHz of Xperia Z Ultra. This is nothing new of course, we have been hearing about these rumors for quite some while now and they are consistent in this regard.
Sony Honami is also boasting a Snapdragon 800 processor MSM8974 along with Adreno 330 as its GPU. The smartphone is running on Android version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and will probably come with Sony’s own skinning on top. The benchmark also revealed that the Sony Honami will have a screen size of 1794 x 1080, which means that the smartphone will have a full HD resolution. Well if Sony does manages to make all of this happen along with what appears to be a stellar camera, the Sony Honami will definitely be one of the best smartphones of the year. We will keep you updated.
