Ever since their release Smart watches have received somewhat of a mixed response. For some people they are an unnecessary luxury while for others it is the next step in the evolution of smartphones. No matter which side of the fence you are in this argument, you have to admit that most smart watches do look a bit childish and lack a lot in the design department. Real watches have a certain class that just can’t be replaced by a plastic watch with a rubber strap. However, Tag Heuer is attempting to change that fact by introducing their iOS and Android compatible smart watch called Connected.
Connected unlike most smart watches has a Titanium chasis with a sapphire crystal display and stylish rubber straps. The device runs on 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z34XX processor, with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. The watch also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a huge battery of 410 mAh. It is compatible with Android phones running 4.3 or above and iPhones/iPads running iOS 8.2 or above.
Of course since this is after all a Tag Heuer watch, it comes with a large price tag of $1,500 USD. The company does provide a two warranty and a promise to replace the smart watch with one of their original analog pieces at the end of 2 years provided the users coughs up another $1,500 USD. Which to be honest is not such a bad deal if you’re a millionaire looking for ways to burn the money in your pocket. For the rest of us, this is just another marketing stunt which won’t see much success.
To be perfectly honest, even if you have loads of cash to spare, we will still recommend you to avoid getting sucked into the whole smart watch fad and opt for a traditional, timeless analogue watch because those time pieces have a class and elegance that almost all these watches fail to obtain.
