This screenshot from South Korean financial services company Mirae Asset Groups gives a complete lineup of Samsung devices, including the up and coming Galaxy S4. WE can confirm it will have a Exynos 5440 processor, Android 4.2, and a 5-inch 1080p screen as suspected. Rumors are going to be getting hot the rest of this month, and I have no doubt that the launch is going to be huge. I just hope the launch isn’t going to be too early, but that shouldn’t be a problem for Samsung considering that there are some users who still have a Galaxy S2 and might be waiting for the Galaxy S4. Let’s take a look at some of the rumors that have surfaced on our blog about the Galaxy S4 since day 1.
November 16, 2012 – Samsung Announced 10NM Process 64GB Flash Memory Chips
The first rumor leading up to the Galaxy S4, a guest reported that the Samsung was working on 64GB flash memory chips with a write speed of 2,000 IOPS and a read of 5000 IOPS with up to 260 MB/s read and 50MB/s write. We could see a 64GB version of the Galaxy S4
November 20, 2012 – Original 1080p Screen Rumor
A guest writer rumored a 5-inch OLED 1080p display and a 13MP camera
December 6, 2012 – Exynos 5440 Processor Rumored
Staff contributor Bilawal Bashir rumored the Exynos 5440 processor which is believed to be a quad core.
December 29, 2012 – S-Pen Functionality Rumor
Staff contributor Madrao rumored that the Galaxy S4 would have a S-Pen. We now know that this probably isn’t going to happen, but we could all end up being surprised, we will just have to wait and see on this one.
January 4, 2013 – First Leaked Photo
Bilawal shared with us the first leaked non-rendered photo of the Galaxy S4 with a design similar to the Galaxy S3 minus the home button.
January 16, 2013 – First Camera Leak
Bilawal shared with us a leaked photo from a device with the model number SGH-N045. The image resolution was 4128 x 2322 making it almost 10MP.
So there you go, there’s a bit of history for you. It’s going to be exciting and interesting to see the Galaxy S4. Will I be purchasing one? Not right away, I’ve only had my Galaxy S3 since November. There is no doubt in my mind that there will be plenty of giveaways however, and I’ll definitely try to win one that way.
