The Xiaomi Redmi Note, a new smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer is going to come out in May. The smartphone for the first time will not be a China exclusive one and will be available in other markets as well. This is great news for the company as well as customers because the Xiaomi Redmi Note is not only affordable but has decent specs. This news comes from Hugo Barra who used to work at Google and is now the Vice President of Xiaomi. He told press that Xiaomi Redmi Note will be releasing in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore starting May and will be available in other markets very soon thereafter. The “other” markets are yet to be named as of now.
Now let’s see what the Xiaomi Redmi Note has to offer. The Xiaomi Redmi Note will come in two variations. The one going for $129 will have an octa core 1.4 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM while the one priced at $159 will feature an octa core 1.7 GHz processor an 2 GB of RAM. Both the processors are MediaTek MTK6592 ones. There is no further difference between the two Xiaomi Redmi Note models. The smartphones will come with a 5.5 inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphones will run on Android Jelly Bean underneath the Xiaomi MIUI interface, There will be dual SIM slots in the Xiaomi Redmi Note as per custom in the west.
The smartphones will also have a rather hefty 3200 mAh battery which will be quite enough for a full day of vigorous usage. There is a 13 MP rear camera as well as a 5 MP front facing one on the Xiaomi Redmi Note which is amazing considering the dirt cheap price. The smartphones will have microSD card support as well.
